Working with Narcissism
Kerrie Kirkwood will be providing an opportunity for clinicians to explore working with narcissism and the defences that can manifest when working clinically with these patients. She will discuss themes such as: the formation of narcissism, management of the pressures to collude with the narcissistic patient and the risk of the therapist's vicarious use of these patients.
Kerrie Kirkwood is a Jungian Analyst and has been in private practice in Sydney since 1999. Previously she was employed with the Department of Corrective Services for 17 years, gaining extensive experience in working in the area of addictions, personality disorders, dual diagnosis and grief and loss.
Her particular interest is understanding how repetitive patterns can be used to facilitate the process of individuation.
